Lama Jinpa Gyamtso
 

 

Lama Jinpa Gyamtso was born in Spain in 1954, he encountered Tibetan Buddhism in the year 1981 and he is monk since 1989. He's very appreciated for the clear exposition of the deeper Buddha teachings, along with a wide knowledge of various aspects of the Dharma. In 1984 he began a traditional 3 years and 3 months retreat in Samye Ling in Scotland (where the retreat was 4 years long). A year after he participated to another 4 years retreat. He received many transmissions and teachings from the most important teachers of Kagyu school: H. H. XVII Karmapa, H. E. Tai Situ Rinpoche, H. E. Gyaltsab Rinpoche, Khenchen Tranghu Rinpoche…

After eight years of retreat, he has been leading since '93 together with Lama Tsondru (Catalan too) the Barcelona Samye Dzong and the other spanish centres affiliate to Samye Ling. During this time Lama Jinpa Gyamtso has been invited to give teachings in several european countries: Scotland (Samye Ling), Belgium, Austria and Russia.
In june 2000 he and Lama Tsondru bestowed the title of Lama from their master Akong Tulku Rinpoche. In the ceremony which took place in Barcelona, Rinpoche praised their qualities. Lama Jinpa Gyamtso guides since 2003 with Lama Tsondru the first traditional retreat (in Spain) and in february 2006 he published the book “Death and Rebirth, the continuous cycle of life and death. A complete explanation of the entire death process and how to practice during lifetime.
